Dr. Gopal has over 30 years of experience in Supply Chain & Operations strategy, execution, New Product Introduction, and Information Technology in a career that has encompassed industry executive management and consulting. His experience has focused on innovating, improving, and managing supply chain operations and services for leading global companies. For products companies, this has included developing high-velocity, low-cost supply chain, outsourcing and information strategies, educating executives and managers, stabilizing and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, and executing for world-class results. In the services arena, Chris has built and run world-class professional services and consulting practices for major companies, and has developed and delivered innovative new services globally across multiple industry segments. Chris is a recognized thought leader in the field of global supply chain & operations.
  
Chris' line experience and consulting/services clients have included prominent global companies across a range of industries. He has also served as an advisor to leading-edge technology companies, and has assisted in starting companies in the technology industry.
    
Dr Gopal is currently a Director at Deloitte Consulting. Prior to this, he has held executive positions at several leading companies, including VP in World-Wide Operations at Dell Computer, Director of Global Supply Chain & Operations services at Ernst & Young Consulting, as well as head of global and commercial supply chain consulting and services practices at Unisys and SAIC.
  
Chris holds a PhD from the University of Southern California, an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management, UK, and a Bachelor's in Mathematics and Science from Bangalore University, India. He also has a CPIM Certification, and has attended the Harvard Business School short course in Manufacturing Strategy.

Dr. Gopal is the co-author of three books on Supply Chain and Manufacturing Operations, "Logistics in Manufacturing", Business One Irwin, "Integrated Distribution Management: Competing on Cost, Customer Service and Time", Business One Irwin Series on Integrated Resource Management, and the latest, "Supercharging Supply Chains: Creating Shareholder Value through Operations Excellence", John Wiley & Sons; (now published in Japanese), and has written several articles for business and trade publications. He has served on prominent industry panels, conducted numerous executive education programs, and has delivered keynote addresses at major international supply chain, operations, and e-commerce forums, including Business Week, Internet World, the SAP e-Business Forum in Paris, the SAP SCM Conference, the Defense Logistics Agency Conference, and the recent Global Supply Chain Summit in San Francisco. Chris has also served as an invited panelist at the Harvard Business Review's Forum in February 2003 (results published in the Harvard Business Review July 2003 issue), the Milken Institute Global Forum in Los Angeles, and on the plenary panels at the recent IATA Conference in Mexico City, and the IATA CNS Conference in Rancho Bernardo.
